The Seasons Bistro, 41 Griffin St. in McDonough, will soon host The Henry Players in its first performance of Why Do Fools Fall in Love?, a dinner theater event.

Sponsored by Main Street McDonough and McIntosh State Bank, the event will serve as a fund-raiser for the McDonough Arts Council, which organizes a number of arts-related events throughout the year.

The performance will also be a fund raiser for The Henry Players, who will put the proceeds toward the purchase of a building, said Steve Green, a member of the board of directors.

The production is a musical centered around four girlfriends at a bachelorette party and features several songs from the 1960s such as He’s A Rebel, A Little Bit of Soap and Baby I’m Yours. Green, who selected it, said the cast has enjoyed preparing for the event.

“They say it’s so funny they can hardly get through rehearsals,” Green said.

A dinner theater experience coupled with the convenience of local entertainment is one reason he expects the production to be successful.

“The Seasons is such a nice place – you know when you walk in there you’re going to get a top-notch meal,” Green said. “We’re going to put on good shows, as good a dinner show as you’ll find anywhere. You can stay local and see a good show and save the gas money and save the parking.”

The Henry Players will perform Why Do Fools Fall in Love Oct. 2 through 4 at 7:30 p.m. at the Seasons Bistro, 41 Griffin St. in McDonough. Tickets are $50 each and can be purchased at The Seasons Bistro and The McDonough Welcome Center.
