Memorial Day Bike Ride
and Battle of the Bands
There will be a Memorial Day Bike Ride and a Battle of the Bands May 24 at One Eyed Willy’s, located at 3716 Atlanta Hwy. in Hiram.
Registration begins at 9 a.m. and kickstands are up at 11:30 a.m. The cost is $30 for a single rider and $45 for a double rider. The ride includes T-shirt, food and music and will go through the Veterans Cemetery. There will be a presentation of colors at 11:15 a.m. The bands playing are Black Friday, Troublemakers, Mad Hatter and there will be a D.J. all day. There will be hamburgers, hot dogs, brats, macaroni salad, baked beans, watermelon, drink specials and peel-and-eat shrimp.

Vacation Bible School
Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church, located at 70 Zion Hill Dr. off East Paulding Dr. in Dallas, invites everyone to their Vacation Bible School. The school runs June 15 through June 19 from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. at Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church. Kindergarten through adult classes available with arts and crafts and snacks will be served each night.

Yard Sale
The Family Alliance of Paulding is hosting a yard sale on May 29 and May 30. The yard sale will be located at Hwy 92 and Alexander St. in Hiram from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Magic Camp
The Paulding County Parks and Recreation Department is now accepting registration for Junior Magic Camp and Mini-Magic Camp. Junior Magic Camp is for children eight to 12 years of age and will take place June 8 through June 12 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The cost is $66 plus a $15 lab fee for the instructor for the first day of camp and will be held at Taylor Farm Park.
Mini-Magic Camp is for children five to seven years old and will take place June 8 through June 12 from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. The cost is $66 plus a $15 lab fee for the instructor for the first day of camp and will be held at Taylor Farm Park.
This camp is designed to give the beginner and the advanced beginner the opportunity to explore a variety of magic tricks. Over 24 tricks will be learned using money, cards, ropes, and sponge balls. A strong emphasis will be on presentation and performance, stage presence, and other aspects of showmanship. Graduation will include a show by the students for family and friends on the last day of camp. Pre-Registration goes through May 29.

Summer Day Camp
The Paulding County Parks and Recreation Department is now registering for Summer Day Camp at the Braly Sports Complex now through May 22. The camp is for children aged five through 12 and camp locations are Mt. Tabor Park and Taylor Farm Park. The dates of camp are June 15, June 22, July 6, July 13, July 20 and July 27.
Camp from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. is $120 per week; Camp Sunrise from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. is $60 and Camp Discover from 1 to 5 p.m. is $60.
At time of registration, you must pay $120 for the first week of camp plus $40 for each additional week of camp that your child is registering.

Dance Fever
The Dallas Theater will be presenting Dance Fever Studio Dance Recital on June 6 and June 7 beginning at 7 p.m. both nights. Admission is free.
Evening with Elvis
The Dallas Theater presents “An Evening with Elvis” June 13 beginning at 7 p.m. It will feature Jeff Cole as Elvis, with Reverend Johnny Turner and “Stedafast”.

Wild West Film Fest
The Dallas Theater will present “One Eyed Jacks” June 20 at 4 p.m. It will be the first film in the summer Wild West Film Fest and features Marlon Brando in his 1961 first and only directorial effort and hailed as one of the best original western films.
On June 27 the Dallas Theater will continue the Wild West Film Fest by presenting “Stagecoach”, the second film in the film fest. The film features John Wayne in the western classic that Director John Ford set the tone for all future western films with his combination of action, drama, humor and set of well-drawn characters.

Blue Eyed Grass Concert
The Dallas Theater presents the Blue Eyed Grass Concert June 27 beginning at 8 p.m.

AWBA Benefit Ride
Pirate Printing, along with Rondey’s BBQ, is sponsoring the AWBA Benefit Ride 2009 on June 7 and starts at Pirate Printing, located at 41 Millhouse Dr. in Hiram. The ride begins at 1:30 p.m. and the cost is $20 per bike and includes a ride t-shirt and poker hand.

Car Show
New Season Church , located at 457 Atlanta Hwy in Hiram, is sponsoring a car show on June 20 from 6 to 9 p.m.

Fireworks Celebration
The city of Hiram will hold its second annual Fireworks Celebration at Ben Hill Strickland Sr. Memorial Park June 27 from 6 to 10 p.m. Music will be provided by AIA, a Jimmy Buffet Tribute Band, and food will be provided by The Varsity, Thirsty Parrot and Hiram Coffee House. D.J Doug will be there with great giveaways and tables for rent are available.

Concert in the Park
