As the days of May dwindle down, so do the days of classes for high school seniors countywide. Redan High School principal Greg Goodwin said this is one of his favorite times of year. “This is a special time for the graduates and the school itself,” Goodwin said. “Graduation shows a sense of completion and I couldn’t be more proud of our seniors as they walk across the stage.” Redan will see more than 300 graduate. They are among more than 5,800 scheduled to graduate from county school system high schools this year. Paul Hayward, principal of Paidiea School in Atlanta-DeKalb, said, “It’s obviously a very exciting time.” “Paidiea is the end of a process of education for these young people and now we are able to send them off to a new stage in their lives. “We always feel quite a bit of pride watching our kids walk across the stage with their diplomas. Some of our students have been at the school for a long time so we have had the privilege of watching them grow up,” Hayward added. Paidiea and St. Pius X Catholic High School conducted graduation ceremonies last Saturday, May 16.
