Actresses/singers Jordin Sparks and Tika Sumpter came to Atlanta Thursday for a press junket at the Four Seasons in Midtown to promote their new movie, "Sparkle." The film, which opens nationwide Aug. 17, was the last one Whitney Houston appeared in before her death in February. The movie also stars Derek Luke, Mike Epps, Carmen Ejogo, Omari Harwick and Ceelo Green. It's about the problems Sparkle (Sparks) faces while trying to become a music star in Detroit during the Motown era.
Look for an article on the film in next week's Neighbor print and online editions.
