Proceeds from the event will support the orchestra and its education and community engagement programs. Over the course of just a few weeks, an array of the Southeast’s most talented designers will showcase their talents by transforming more than 30 design spaces in the estate into a spectacular piece of art. The Show House and Gardens is the longest running event of its kind in the Southeast.
This year’s Show House Garden, designed by landscape architect Ed Castro, will also be included as part of the Atlanta Botanical Garden’s annual Gardens for Connoisseurs Tour. Guests who visit the Decorators’ Show House will be eligible for discounted $20 tickets to the Gardens for Connoisseurs Tour, and guests who participate in the Gardens for Connoisseurs Tour may purchase discounted $15 tickets to visit the Decorators’ Show House. This year marks the first time orchestra and the garden have partnered for these popular events.
Also new this year, IKEA will partner with the associates to design a room in the 2013 Show House. This partnership stems from the shared commitment of both organizations to support education for young people in and beyond the Atlanta community. The contents of the completed room will be raffled off at the end of the Show House. IKEA FAMILY card members may purchase discounted $18 tickets to visit the Decorators’ Show House.
“The Atlanta Symphony Associates’ Decorators Show House & Gardens is one of Atlanta’s greatest traditions and is known throughout the country as one of the finest showcases of design,” said Natalie Miller, the 2013 Show House chair. “I’m thrilled to be involved in this year’s project, and can’t wait to see what this year’s designers have lined up for this beautiful historic home.”
