Part of the reason they have won most of their games is Jace White and his defensive skills.
This junior safety has been a key factor in many of the Wolfpack’s victories.
“He’s our leading tackler and is doing a great job on defense,” head football coach Scott Jones said.
White has 85 solo tackles on the season during the course of seven games. Out of those 85 tackles, Jones said between 25 and 30 of those tackles have been “touchdown saving tackles,” keeping opponents from running up the score or coming back to take the win.
“He plays safety for us so he makes a lot of touchdown saving tackles. He’s very physical and an excellent defensive player,” Jones said.
Not only is White an excellent player on defense, but he is a great teammate and leader as well.
“He’s a leader on and off the field and all of his teammates look up to him. He’s a leader by example,” Jones said.
With White only being a junior, Jones is excited that he will have him for one more year.
“The great thing about Jace is that he’ll be back again,” he said.
