North Paulding volleyball had another successful season, returning to the postseason for the fifth consecutive year and finishing the 2013 campaign with 20 wins. Senior right side and blocker Kenzie Harris was a major contributor to the Wolfpack’s success.

“Kenzie is a hard worker whose dedicated and only wants what is best for the team,” head coach Geoff Gardener said. “She puts in the extra time, is always excited to play and a joy to coach.”

The Wolfpack had to incorporate several younger players into an established roster which allowed another positive attribute of Harris to emerge.

“Kenzie was a great leader for us and helped push the entire team,” Gardener said. “She played many different roles for us this season.”

North Paulding dropped its first-round playoff game to Sequoyah, one of the top-five teams in Class AAAAA, on Oct. 17 but Harris still looks at the positives from this past season.

“I was surprised by how well the season went,” Harris said. “We had new girls that came in and stepped up for our team. We played well against Sequoyah, took them to a fourth set and I’m proud of our effort.”

Harris also plays for A5 Volleyball, which is based in Roswell and is one of the top club volleyball programs in the country.

Harris will attend Emmanuel College in Boston next fall and major in education.
