Alpharetta police arrested Omari Glenn Ryden, 28, as the man who allegedly called authorities about a bomb at North Point Mall this morning, said George Gordon, spokesman for the Alpharetta Department of Public Safety.

"During the interview with detectives, he broke down and cried and confessed to the whole thing," Gordon said.

The call was a hoax and no explosive device was found after police searched the over one million square feet of space at the mall for hours. Gordon said the mall was reopened around 1:30 p.m., after being evacuated when the threat came through the 911 center.

The reasoning behind why Ryden allegedly called in the threat has not been determined.
