“I always said if I won the lottery I would open one,” Gaglione said.
One day in late September of this year, Gaglione said she was talking with an aunt who told her that she believed in her and wanted to support my dream financially.
“So the opportunity presented itself and it was time to take action,” Gaglione said. “After that conversation doors opened up all over for me, like God had his hand in this adventure all along. I felt like I had won the lottery.”
Her business, Asbury Station has become a reality and will open soon at its location on Church Street under the bridge in downtown Cartersville.
Asbury Station has much to offer, whether from consignment or straight from the vendor, the business offers home furniture, as well as home accessories, such as burlap pillows, handcrafted furniture and signs hand-crafted by local metro Atlanta residents.
Asbury Station also will be offering craft classes inspired by the ever popular website Pinterest.
These classes will feature painting classes, seasonal crafts and home-school crafts, just to name a few.
“Asbury Station is unique, and my vision is to constantly find ways to be different, and new,” Gaglione said.
Given the state of the current economy, Gaglione said she was nervous about making the move to open her own business, but she has faith in her business.
“The economy does make me nervous, but I’m praying that Asbury Station can help the economy with all the wonderful talented artists and beautiful pieces we have to offer,” Gaglione said. “One of my favorite quotes is by Audrey Hepburn in which she says, ‘Nothing is impossible, the word itself says ‘I’m possible’.”
Asbury Station will open just in time for Small Business Saturday Nov. 24, which is recognized as the official day to support small businesses and buoy the local economy.
Cartersville Mayor Matt Santini signed a proclamation supporting the day Nov. 8 at the Depot in Friendship Plaza.
Cartersville Downtown Development Manager Tara Currier said Small Business Saturday plays an important role in supporting businesses like Asbury Station.
Started by American Express, Small Business Saturday raises awareness for a pivotal business sector Currier said.
“That’s what Small Business Saturday is really all about,” Currier said. “Small Business Saturday highlights local businesses which are the backbone of our community.”
