Senior Cody Williams has been the strong offensive force for South Paulding’s stellar start to this season, averaging 17 points per contest.
“Cody is very coachable and a great kid,” Spartans’ head coach Gil Davis said. “He’s our vocal leader and a great representative of our school on and off the court.”
Williams, who’s in his first year at South Paulding after transferring from Hiram, boasts a 3.4 grade point average and is part of a senior class that’s changed the attitude of the entire team.
“Now we expect to win and have to get used to working like a winner,” Davis said. “Paulding County and the school have begun to get excited about us.”
The Spartans return to action on Friday at New Manchester in the first contest of the season between the Region 5-AAAAA squads. The teams split the season series last year with both contests decided by two points or less.
