Ronnie J. Price Sr. has been named chief human resources officer for Atlanta Public Schools, effective immediately, the district announced last week in a news release.

Over the course of 28 years, Price has served in various human resources roles in the post-secondary education and public sector industries.

“Our human resources division has undergone quantum improvement during the past year especially,” district Superintendent Erroll B. Price’s most recent position was with the College of William & Mary in Williamsburg, Va., as associate vice president of human resources. In this capacity, he was responsible for the development and management of human resources programs and operations, including classification and compensation, recruitment, training and development, performance management, employee relations, conduct and compliance and benefits.

Prior to his tenure at William & Mary, Price served as associate vice president of human resources and equity officer for Utah Valley University, and director of human resources for the University of Virginia. His experience also includes service as the chair of the Albemarle County School Board in Charlottesville, Va., where he helped lead and advocate for efforts that support student achievement.

Price earned a bachelor’s degree in public administration and a master’s degree in public administration from the University of Virginia. In addition, he has completed doctoral work at Virginia.
