The 36th Annual Mayor’s Barbecue Ball hosted by Roswell Mayor Jere Wood is Oct. 20, 6:30 to 10 p.m. at the home of his late mother, Miss Tillie, in the woods at 10850 Stroup Road, Roswell.

There will be live music by 3 Way Street and all the food guests care to eat. Mayor Wood will be cooking up freshly smoked barbecue, cole slaw and corn on the cob.

Additionally, there will be food catered by Adele’s Cajun Cuisine, Artisan Café, Shane’s Ribshack, Dreamland BBQ, Spiced Right Ribhouse and Harry’s Whole Foods as well as beer, wine, soft drinks and s’mores by the bonfire.

This year the Ball will benefit The Drake House, which provides crisis housing and empowerment programs for homeless mothers and their children who are from the north Fulton area.

The Drake House has served more than 240 mothers and over 420 children since opening their doors in 2006.
