Griffin-based Beatles tribute band The Return is making a return of its own -- to the Dallas Theater for a concert Saturday night.

The band performed in Dallas in November 2010 and features a video of the performance on its web site.

The 7 p.m. show will feature a band that strives for such detailed authenticity as using exact replicas of the Beatles’ instruments, including Paul McCartney’s left-handed bass guitar, and note for note cover versions of the Fab Four’s hits.

The Return features Richard Stelling as John, Shane Landers as Paul, Michael Fulop as George, and Adam Thurston as Ringo.

According to its biography on its web site, a group of friends who liked playing Beatles songs together formed The Return in 1995. A friend asked them to perform in front of an audience and they were well-received, according to the bio.

That show, which was supposed to be a one-time thing, led to more shows until the band found themselves playing on a regular basis. They then named themselves the Roaches.

As time went on, they began to polish up their act a bit. In the years that followed a few members came and went, and the band took on a more professional presence. They got an agent, changed their name to the Return, and began to command the attention of more widely renowned clients not only in the U.S., but in multiple other countries as well, including England.

Today the band still strives to maintain the utmost level of authenticity in their show. They have played thousands of shows in venues ranging from theaters to festivals, fairs, casinos, cruise ships, colleges and universities, weddings, birthday parties, bar mitzvahs and corporate events for companies like Coca-Cola, ABC, Hard Rock Cafe and Volkswagen International.

“The Return has crafted a truly authentic, entertaining, and very exciting show. And in doing so, the band not only delivers a near-perfect reproduction of a live Beatles concert, they capture the very essence of the Beatles themselves,” the web site stated.

The band has performed a private concert at Abbey Road Studios in London, England; performed at the Cavern Club in Liverpool, England, where the Beatles got their start; headlined the 40th anniversary celebration of the Beatles’ visit to Tokyo; performed at the 2012 U.S. Olympic Swim Trials in Omaha, Neb.; debuted their Sgt Peppers & Beyond show in front of 10,000 fans in Hermosillo, Mexico; performed a live concert on XM Radio for the 40th anniversary of the Beatles’ first U.S. visit and more.

Tickets are $25 and $22 main level; and,$20 and $18 in the balcony. Tickets are available through the ticket office or online at www.dallastheater-civiccenter.com/tickets.html.

Dallas Theater is at 208 Main St. in downtown Dallas.
