The Sandy Springs Police Department announced Wednesday morning it has dropped the charges against one of the two employees of pop singer Justin Bieber arrested Tuesday night for allegedly stealing a camera from a photographer’s vehicle.

A security guard assigned to Bieber, identified as 32-year-old Hugo Hesny, is accused of stealing photographer Jason Winslow’s camera, valued at $10,000, near the Sandy Springs Funhouse Arcade located at 6650 Roswell Road. Officers were called to the arcade, which was reportedly rented out by Bieber.

Police determined Hesny warned Winslow he was too close. A confrontation ensued and Winslow, 38, attempted to leave the location. But at some point Hesny caught up and took the camera, placed it in a Cadillac Escalade and instructed the driver, 49-year-old Terrance Johnson, to return to the house Bieber is renting in Buckhead.

An officer stopped the Escalade as it was pulling into the home. The camera was recovered and the two men were taken into custody and charged with felony theft. But detectives later determined Johnson was contracted by a limo service to drive of one of three Escalades, so charges against him were dropped. Hesny was taken to the Fulton County Jail and charged with felony entering auto.

Bieber was not outside during the incident and was not part of it, police said.
