The Brookhaven Chamber of Commerce has announced that Parag M. Mehta has been appointed as the chamber’s interim executive director. On Nov. 25, Art Freeman stepped down due to health reasons and Mehta stepped in to take his place. Mehta began work in his new position immediately.

“I am honored to be in this position,” said Mehta. “Brookhaven is a wonderful place for any business with it being strategically located between Atlanta and the Perimeter area. I am excited for the opportunity to work further with the board, staff and volunteers to assist the existing businesses in Brookhaven and attract new businesses as well.”

Mehta is the principal of Mehta Law Group. It is a boutique law firm that focuses on small and medium-sized businesses in helping them from inception to dissolution and everything between. He has a particular focus on franchise law.

Prior to starting Mehta Law Group, Mehta was with Accenture where he was a business, strategy and IT consultant. His work primarily focused on working within operations and compliance within the capital markets industry of Fortune 500 companies. He led global projects focusing on client needs and developed processes to streamline efficiency.

Mehta was born and raised in Atlanta. He grew up in Stone Mountain and is now a resident of Brookhaven. He is a graduate of Illinois State University with a degree in telecommunications management and is also a graduate of the University of Kansas school of law where he earned his J.D.

Mehta can be reached at or by phone at (404) 247-9240.
