The fourth annual Chastain Park Arts Festival will return to the Buckhead park Saturday and Sunday.

The event, hosted by the Atlanta Foundation for Public Spaces, is organized by artists, for artists and by the community, for the community. Organizers expect more than 20,000 people to attend.

Visitors can find the park located on Wieuca Road at Powers Ferry Road, with ample parking in designated Red and Blue public parking lots. The event is free to attend.

“We are so lucky to have this beautiful park in Atlanta,” festival Director Patrick Dennis said. “Chastain Park has a golf course, sports fields, riding stables, pool, playground and the Path runners and walkers. But the hidden gem is Park Drive along the north side of the park. It’s got great views of the park and city. We literally turn it into an outdoor gallery of 185 artists under white tents and compliment it with gourmet foods and local musicians. The park is very pet friendly, so we expect to see lots of families, too.”

This event consistently ranks among the region’s top art events year after year. It will also offer cuisine from gourmet food trucks Yumbii, Tastee, Rolly Polly, King of Pops, Ursa Minor Coffee and Fry Guy, plus food and drinks from Granny’s Lemonade, Snap Franks, S&J Pizza and Williamson Brothers Bar-B-Q.

A small stage will be set up in the Green Lot of the festival for acoustic musicians to play all weekend. Performers Wesley Cook, Jeno, Prisca Strother and the band Night Driving in Small Towns are all scheduled to play.

“We encourage visitors to take their time and really enjoy the full experience of the festival,” Dennis said.

“After parking at the top of the festival route near the Chastain Amphitheater and riding stables, one can literally browse some of the finest regional art and crafts for an hour, passing the pond area, then stop at mid-point for coffee, lunch or just to enjoy the music. Glass makers, ceramics, jewelers, leather work, painters and photography will all be on display. Then a bit more wandering will bring visitors to the conclusion of the route at Dudley Lane near the children’s play area. It’s an easy stroll under the trees and around the park and there’s no sense rushing. We’ll be there all weekend!”
