Trunk N Treat will be on Oct. 28 at the main campus, 2001 Jodeco Road in Stockbridge, at 5 p.m. and exit one campus, 7348 Davidson Parkway South in Stockbridge at 6 p.m.
An additional Trunk N Treat will be at the new Morrow campus, 1550 Southlake Parkway, on Oct. 31 at 6 p.m. The Morrow campus is scheduled to open to the public in January.
All events are free to public and residents are asked to bring a canned good to donate to the In His Hands pantry.
The basic premise of the Trunk N Treat is to provide a safe and fun environment for families to get candy for Halloween, said children’s ministry director Erica Chavous.
“Our focus is on the trunks,” she said. “We have some people that will pull up and open their trunk and others that create elaborate displays.”
One of the more elaborate displays Chavous recalled fell in line with the theme of Snow White, complete with those dressed as the story’s characters.
Chavous said on average anywhere from 50to 75 different trunks are popped open on the church campus, including representatives from individuals and children’s, music and women’s ministries.
Children are encouraged to wear costumes to the event.
“We love to have neighbors, friends and the community on our campus,” Chavous said. “We just want to offer a safe and fun environment for families and to share the love of Jesus.”
