City seeking Humanitarian Award nominations

The city of Sandy Springs is soliciting nominations for its 2014 Humanitarian Award honoring the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. The honor recognizes an individual who embodies King’s history of character and service. Nominees must live or work within Sandy Springs to be eligible for nomination.

The nomination form can be found online at www.sandyspringsga.gov/MLK. Nominations are due by Jan. 6 at noon. A volunteer committee will review all nominations, selecting the award recipient. The honor is presented during the ninth annual MLK Day Festivities set for Jan. 20 at city hall, 7840 Roswell Road, Building 500, Sandy Springs. Felix Lora, director of the Sandy Springs Mission, was the 2013 recipient.
