The 18th annual Georgia Cowboy Poetry gathering will be held Saturday at 7 p.m. at the Chapel Hill High School auditorium.

The featured performances will be the Georgia Cowboy Poet Kids consisting of area teens who sing and recite cowboy-themed verses.

Also joining this year’s lineup are musician and entertainer Jim Dorsett and a new talent, Cole Myers, from Griffin.

In addition, other featured performers will be Mike and Maggie Beville from Elizabethtown, Ky.

This duo makes a return performance after several years’ absence with their down-home country poetry in a Kentucky style.

The Georgia Cowboy Poets will also be on stage for a round robin session of “Anything Cowboy” where one’s favorite poems and songs would likely be heard.

They have been busy working in schools, libraries, round-ups, brandings, cook offs and wagon judging throughout the United States.

Tickets are $10. Advance tickets are available from executive director Marsha Ackerman at (770) 944-4250 or (404) 372-2226 and are payable by check for “will call.”

Chapel Hill High School is at 4899 Chapel Hill Road in Douglasville.
