On Thursday of the double-elimination tournament, Creekside lost its lead to Grace en route to an 8-6 setback.
Then last Friday, the Lady Cougars, who needed two wins in the finale, fell 14-1 in the rematch to conclude the tournament at J.P. Moseley Park in Stockbridge
However, between those two games, the Lady Cougars brought the heat to the softball field, as they did all season.
Desperately needing a win Thursday to stay alive against Holy Ground, Creekside scored nine runs in the fifth inning on the way to a 13-3 victory.
Junior Dana Barefoot highlighted the frame with a leadoff home run and Suzanna Thompson, Audry Butts and McKenzie Simmons all added run-scoring hits.
In the first, Barefoot, who also finished with 10 strikeouts, opened the scoring with an RBI single and Cassie Waldo had a two-run single.
Against Trinity Christian on Friday, the fifth inning was once again the difference for Creekside but this time the Lady Cougars scored 11 runs in the frame to overcome a two-run deficit.
Barefoot started the rally with an RBI double and Simmons continued it with an RBI single to tie things at 3-3.
Then Thompson gave Creekside the lead for good with an RBI single.
Rachael Jackson, Cassie Evans, Barefoot, Simmons and Lindsey Hemmings all added run-scoring hits to continue the barrage.
In the bottom of the frame, Trinity closed the margin to 12-8 but Barefoot pushed the difference back to six with a two-run homer to center in the sixth.
Trinity scored a run in the sixth of the 14-9 final.
Waldo hit a home run to left in the fourth inning.
