Creepy Critters Day is from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. starring such crowd-pleasers as bats and a snake.
A live bat presentation is set for 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. Seating is very limited and theater passes will be given out on a first come, first served basis 30 minutes before each presentation.
For those who might like to attract bats to their backyards, there will be information at the nature center’s habitat for bats as well as bat games to play.
At noon, a live snake and owl will be the special guests at a presentation. An insect bio-buggy full of activities and fun about eerie animals with loads of legs will be on tap from 1 to 3 p.m.
A book-signing by the authors of “The Ugly Bug Ball” is from 1 to 2 p.m. with a reading of this insect-centered story at 3 p.m. Devil claws, witch hazel and The Vine that Ate the South are part of the all day Frightening Flora mini-exhibit.
And finally, this event gives youngsters the opportunity to swap their old costumes for something new to wear this Halloween at the Eeek-O-Friendly Costume Swap.
The Chattahoochee Nature Center is at 9135 Willeo Road, Roswell. Admission is $8 for adults, $6 seniors, $5 children ages 3 to 12 and free for ages 2 and under.
