Authorities have confirmed one fatality in a deadly tornado that touched down in Adairsville Wednesday.

Emergency crews continue to work the area removing debris and routing residents who could be seen walking the streets that were littered with falling trees and power lines.

The Bartow County Sheriff's Office has issued a dusk to dawn curfew and Gov. Nathan Deal has issued a state of emergency for Bartow and Gordon counties.

According to a statement from Cartersville Medical Center, two women were treated and released for minor head injuries and that the fatality they received was a male.

The storm swept through Bartow County before lunch time and extensive damage has been reported along U.S. 41 and Ga. 120 in Adairsville.

No damage or injuries were reported at any schools.
