Editor’s note: Incumbent Felicia Moore, Ricardo Mosby and Duwon “Mooley” Robinson are facing off for the District 9 Atlanta City Council seat in Tuesday’s nonpartisan election. The district includes part of Buckhead.

o Occupation: associate real estate broker

o Education: bachelor’s degree in communications from Central State University, 1983; studying for a master’s degree in public administration from Central Michigan University.

o Political experience: currently serving fourth term on the Atlanta City Council, where she was first elected in 1997.

o Family: Single

o Why are you the best choice? “I certainly have the experience, the experience of City Hall and knowing how to get things done within city government, have a passion. I bring knowledge and experience to continue to move us forward and have positive things happen in the community.”

o Political experience: First time running for public office but has worked for the city of Atlanta in a number of capacities as the legislative assistant for the city council and departments of public works and watershed management.

o Family: three children and a fiancé; did not disclose their names to protect their privacy

o Why are you the best choice? “I think I know how to negotiate. I negotiated major contracts for [the] city of Atlanta, other entities. I have the ability to get things done as opposed to just being a gadfly or stalwart. I would be a person who would be a catalyst for progress.”

o Political experience: First time running for public office but has worked on the campaigns of mayors Andrew Young, Bill Campbell and Kasim Reed

o Family: Single

o Why are you the best choice? “Because I [was] born and raised [in District 9] and I have the ability to really stop the crime that really makes public safety not an issue. … [I am ] trying to bring relationships and trust back with the [Atlanta] Police Department, and a result of that, crime has really plummeted: one break-in, one shooting in the whole quarter. … I figure if not me, then who? It would be a real change out here if we had real leadership.”

o Top three issues: economic development, building recreation centers and positive programs for teens and collaborating with the rest of the council to fix infrastructure.
