It was a gathering that made Mother Nature, and Douglasville, proud.

Recently, more than 100 natural health care professionals, physicians, technicians and holistic medicine enthusiasts, some from as far away as Norway and Germany, transformed the new Douglasville Convention Center into a seminar on the benefits of natural health care.

The event was the Association of Natural Health’s 2013 conference and, according to the organization’s founder and president, Sam Abukittah, it focused on the latest advancements in natural health care while providing strategic approaches to overcoming obstacles in the continuing effort to provide natural health products and services to customers.

Abukittah, who is also the general manager of Standard Enzyme Co. and the Bremen Health Clinic, sponsors of the event, said that, regardless of the topic, one must continue to learn and acquire new knowledge and keep up with the newest advancements.

“The same holds true for natural health care because new products and new technology are expanding the boundaries of the holistic approach to health care,” he said.

“We assembled a fascinating list of awesome speakers on holistic medicine and medical products from around the world.”

One of the keynote speakers at the conference was Dr. James H. Hawver, a natural health physician, who actually treated Abukittah for numerous health challenges.

“Dr. Hawver was the only one who helped me through my health-related challenges and he impressed me so much that he made me a believer in the natural approach to healthful living,” Abukittah said.

Randi Miles, the convention center and visitors bureau director, said it was fascinating for convention center officials to host the conference, especially with so many natural health care celebrities involved.

Abukittah said there are more than 600 holistic products. However, just to have a natural product and not know exactly what it is designed to do is not the right approach to holistic medicine.

“A quality natural product can be so much better if one has the knowledge to go with it,” he said, adding that is what the conference was all about.
