Construction and maintenance work will also be underway on several state routes around metro Atlanta throughout the weekend.
All weekend, crews will close the three eastbound and westbound lanes in several sections between Paces Ferry Road and Ashford Dunwoody Road. Several ramps will be closed at various times during the weekend as the paving operations pass.
"We had very long delays last weekend and we expect the same this weekend," said GDOT District Construction Engineer Lee Upkins. "We are asking motorists to seek alternate routes and to please bear with us as we try to get this project completed as soon as possible. Working in several lanes each weekend will help us to accomplish that."
Other projects affecting traffic this weekend include bridge work on Ga. 400 northbound and work around the Sidney Marcus Boulevard/State Route 13 intersection.
