In the third quarter, McLaughlin put his stamp on the game with 12 points in the frame, but the Eagles’ got hot from deep. Weiner made four of the team’s five 3-pointers, including a shot well beyond NBA range, as Riverside closed the period with a 12-0 run for a 48-38 advantage heading into the fourth.

ELCA trailed by as many as 13 in the final period but only managed to get within seven points before the final buzzer.

JJ McCalston had 14 points and seven assists for Riverside.

Despite an off outing from the field, Matt Tankersley finished with seven rebounds, six assists and three blocks for the Chargers, who return to action the day after Christmas against North Forsyth in the Pickens Holiday Tournament.
