More on Dakota: Dakota has been a leader at Hiram since his sophomore year. He has also been a starter since then. He started out at defensive end and was moved to linebacker during his junior year. Three games after he was moved, he tied the school record for tackles in a game. Head coach Chris Brown said, “He has always been a leader in the weight room as well. We are excited to have him lead our team into the 2013 campaign.”

More on Mitchell: Last season, Mitchell led the Raiders to an 11-1 record, Region 5-AAAAA Championship and the second round of the state playoffs. He completed 69 of 102 pass attempts and was named to the Georgia Athletic Coaches Association’s first team All-State. Head coach Chuck Goddard said, “His stats would have been better, however, he didn’t play in the second half of four football games last year because we were winning by such a large margin.”

2012 Stats: five touchdowns and more than 1,000 total yards rushing and receiving.
More on Kelin: As a junior Kelin had 52 receptions for 857 yards and three touchdowns. He also had 181 rushing yards resulting in two touchdowns. Kelin averaged 9.7 yards on 11 punt returns with his longest at 57 yards. He also averaged 26.8 yards per kickoff return. Defensively Kelin had 33 tackles. Kelin also made the first team All- Region for 7-AAAA last season.

More on Chase: As a junior, Chase started at quarterback for North Paulding. During his junior year he completed 181 of his 262 pass attempts for 2,270 yards and 33 touchdowns. He also rushed for 704 yards on 138 attempts and four touchdowns. Chase led the team to a 8-4 record and the second round of the state playoffs.

More on Jabius: As a returning starter as well as the defensive captain, Jabius is a member of the special forces, special teams unit, as well as a reserve offensive lineman. After suffering a fracture to his wrist early in 2012, he bounced back quickly and played a portion of the season with a large cast. At several points during last season, he created big plays including interceptions, forced fumbles, and key strips, which led to points for the offense.

More on Mikell: As a sophomore Mikell had 159 carries for 971 yards and 13 touchdowns. He had 15 receptions for 251 yards and one touchdown, and threw one pass for 42 yards. Mikell also had 27 kickoff and punt returns for 730 yards. On the defensive end he had 10 solo tackles, 13 assisted and had four pass deflections. He also made second team all-county.

More on Brooks: As a junior, Brooks completed 188 of 304 pass attempts. He was named the AP Class AAA State Player of the Year. Brooks led the Purple Hurricanes to a 13-1 record, an undefeated regular season and Region 5-AAA Championship, and the semifinal round of the Class AAA state playoffs.
