Smith is looking to build upon last year’s promising freshman campaign, when she averaged more than one block per game.
Smith’s upside is about on par with the Lady Red Devils’ fortunes on the hardwood.
While she is busy mastering the art of the block, continuing to develop her game on both ends of the floor is only going to make Druid Hills more formidable for opposing teams.
The Lady Red Devils’ faithful has plenty reason to be optimistic and rally around a hard-nosed player like Smith and a squad as feisty as her 2012-13 hoops mates.
Thus far it’s been tough sledding this season for Druid Hills, as their record shows. Still, with Smith bringing enough defensive intensity to spare and her teammates playing hard every night a breakthrough is bound to happen at any time.
