Through seven games Brown is averaging 16.7 points and 6.7 rebounds per game; she poured in a season-high 29 points in an early December in a win against AAAAAA Wheeler and dropped 26 more points against AAAAAA powerhouse Stephenson last week.
“She is an undersized post, but she works so hard and uses her body so well that nobody has been able to stop her,” said St. Francis coach Aisha Gaddis of Brown. “She may be 5-foot-9 but she plays like she is 6-foot-3 out there. She can score inside and outside, and when we have needed a bucket this season she’s been our go-to player.”
On top of her on-court abilities, Gaddis noted that Brown has just been just as impressive off of it. The fourth-year starter sports a 4.0 grade point average in the classroom while also making use of that intelligence in game situations.
“She knows the game and situations so well that it allows her to play against bigger girls and play well. She’s just so well-rounded and the type of player that we hope can take our program to a [championship] level,” said the Lady Knights coach.
