The 6 foot 2 junior captain has consistently been a force on the court for the Lady Tigers since her freshman days.
Just like she did then, Davenport currently leads the team in scoring — 16 points a night — and has added leading rebounder (10 per game) to her growing list of credits.
“College coaches like her size and her ability to run the floor as well as she does,” said Tucker coach Robin Potter. “She really hustles, gets after the ball defensively.
“And she’s really improved at catching the ball on the perimeter and driving to the basket … she’s very fluid.”
A host of Division I programs including Louisville, Florida State and Georgia Tech have launched recruiting campaigns to lure Davenport, who remains uncommitted.
“She’s always been very mature,” said Potter. “She’s very coachable … she wants to get better.”
“She pushes her teammates — she can be vocal — but in a good way,” the coach added. “She accepts her role as captain, leading scorer and rebounder … not carrying the team, but doing as much as she possibly can for it.”
