A four-year varsity player for Druid Hills soccer, Jenna Miller came into her own during her senior season between goalposts.

“This was her first full season as a starter and she really developed into a great player for us,” said Druid hills soccer coach Trey Palmer of his keeper.

“A large part of that development was a huge step forward in her maturity; she brought great work ethic all season and helped us accomplish a lot.”

The accomplishments for Druid Hills included an 11-6-1 season on the pitch, a perfect 6-0 record in region play and a first round state playoff win over Westlake in early May.

Miller, who was the backbone of a Druid Hills’ defense, posted a shutout eight different times this season.

“We had a good defense in front of her, but it seemed like the few times teams did make it through Jenna held it together for us,” said the Druid Hills coach.

Palmer went on to say that Miller’s best performance of the season came in their biggest game of the year against Luella April 19 — a victory in penalty kicks that sprung the Lady Red Devils to a region title.

“There were eight penalty kicks and she outright stopped four of them,” said Palmer. “We won that game because of her.”
