When her team needed her to switch positions, Taylor Bradley did just that.

Bradley, a junior, is a three-year starter for the Lady War Eagles’ softball team. She started the past two years at shortstop and will split her time at catcher and third base this season.

“She is just that athletic,” Marist head coach Mike Trapani said. “And she is willing to do whatever it takes for the team. Taylor is kind of old school and I mean that in the best of ways. She is all business. She comes to practice and to every game ready to go.”

Trapani said Bradley knows when to be serious and when to joke around with her teammates.

“She can let her hair down and have a good time, but she is a very responsible young lady and is a real credit to the program,” Trapani said.

Trapani said the reasoning for starting Bradley early in her career was not complicated at all.

“She was advanced in her years fundamentally on defense and also just in arm strength,” Trapani said. “She was able to play as a ninth grader and she had played a good level of softball coming in here. She had a good combination of athleticism and experience.”

Trapani said he is glad he will have Bradley starting for two more seasons at Marist.

“I am already dreading the day she leaves,” he said.
