Meg Casey provides a big inside presence for the Blessed Trinity girls’ basketball team.

The 5-foot-11 senior forward leads the Titans with 11.5 points and 9.8 rebounds a game and is also the team leader in steals with 1.9 per contest.

Casey was a bright spot for Blessed Trinity in its 59-48 loss to Woodward Dec. 10, scoring 31 points — shooting 15 of 24 from the field — and grabbing 18 rebounds in the game.

She also had 19 points and 16 rebounds in a 63-34 victory over north Fulton rival Fellowship Nov. 19 as well as 16 points and eight rebounds in a 60-30 win over McNair Dec. 3 and 10 points and 15 rebounds in a 51-45 win over Westminster Nov. 23.

“Meg is a very quiet and humble young lady,” Blessed Trinity coach Tamara Chavis said. “She is not a big talker on the court, she’s not a showboat — she doesn’t do any of that. She moves in and does what needs to be done. She has great hands for a big [player]. She has a soft touch. She finishes strong at the basket and she’s a leader on and off the court.”
