Hop into the holiday season with various events planned throughout DeKalb County. There is something for everyone — from musical performances to home tours to specialty shopping events.

Stone Mountain Christmas
Check out more than a dozen live performances and activities at Stone Mountain Park, including a nightly Christmas parade and snow tubing on Laser Lawn. Attractions continue through Jan. 1, 2013 on select dates. Wrist bands are $28 for adults and $22 for children. Discount tickets are available at participating Kroger stores.

‘Winter Wonderland’
The Fernbank Museum of Natural History’s “Winter Wonderland” exhibition features dozens of trees decorated to represent various cultural traditions and celebrations around the world. Museum admission is $17.50 for adults, $16.50 for students and seniors, and $15.50 for children ages 3 to 12. The exhibit will run through Jan. 6, 2013. Hours are Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, noon to 5 p.m. The museum is at 767 Clifton Rd., NE, in Atlanta.

Christmas at Callanwolde
Tour the Callanwolde Fine Arts Center, decked out for the holidays, and enjoy activities including Breakfast with Santa, Teddy Bear Tea, the Callanwolde Artists’ Studio and Cabaret Nights. This event will run from Dec. 7 through 18. Event times vary. General admission tickets are $20 for adults, $15 for seniors and $12 for children ages 4 to 12. Callanwolde is at 980 Briarcliff Rd., NE, in Atlanta.

Tour of Homes
Visit seven featured homes in Decatur all dressed up for the holidays. The tour will be held Friday and Saturday from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. Park at the Courtyard by Marriott on Clairemont Avenue and take a complimentary shuttle bus to each stop. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door.

Holiday Market
Shop Dec. 9 from noon to 6 p.m. at the Holiday Market at the Avondale Community Club on Lakeshore Drive. Take a trolley to visit the six homes featured as part of this year’s Christmas Tour of Homes, which will run from 3 to 8 p.m. Stop at the live nativity at Avondale Estates First Baptist Church. Tickets for the tour are $12 in advance or $15 at the door.

‘Christmas Wishes’
This holiday musical debuts December 6 at the ART Station Theatre, at 5384 Manor Dr. in Stone Mountain, and runs through Dec. 23. Show times vary. Tickets are $25 for adults and $21 for seniors and students.

‘Madeline’s Christmas’
Two casts of local students perform this musical at Horizon Theatre. Performances will begin December 8 and run through December 30. Show times vary. Tickets are $15 for adults and $12 for children. Horizon Theatre is at 1083 Austin Ave. in Atlanta.

‘The Santaland Diaries’
This adult holiday comedy at Horizon Theatre is written by humorist David Sedaris. Shows run through Dec. 30. Show times are Tuesdays through Fridays at 8 p.m., Saturdays at 8:30 p.m. and Sundays at 6 p.m. Tickets start at $25. Horizon Theatre is at 1083 Austin Ave. in Atlanta.

Chanukah Celebration
Celebrate Chanukah at the Marcus Jewish Community Center of Atlanta from Dec. 10 through 12 with performances, the lighting of the Menorah, Chanukah songs and refreshments. The center is at 5342 Tilly Mill Rd. in Dunwoody. The program is free and starts at 5:15 p.m. nightly. MJCCA will also host an adult Chanukah Happy Hour on Dec. 14 from 3 to 5 p.m. The cost is $15 or $10 for members.

‘It’s a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play’
The Stage Door Players present this holiday show. Performances will begin Friday and continue through Dec. 16. Show times will be Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 2:30 p.m. Tickets are $27 for adults, $25 for seniors, $22 for students and $12 for children under age 12. Christmas with Atlanta Sacred Chorale
Atlanta Sacred Chorale and guest ensemble, The Gary Motley Trio, will bring the sounds of the season to the Schwartz Center for Performing Arts Emerson Concert Hall at 1700 North Decatur Rd. in Atlanta. Shows will be Dec. 15 at 8 p.m. and Dec. 16 at 4 p.m. General admission tickets are $25 and student tickets are $10.

Breakfast with Santa
Enjoy a breakfast buffet with Santa on Dec. 15 from 8 to 10 a.m. at the Courtyard by Marriott on Clairemont Avenue in Decatur. Tickets are first come, first serve. The cost is $12 for adults and $7 for children under 12.

Holiday Marketplace
Nearly 100 artisans will feature holiday gifts available for purchase. Hear local musicians and carolers, and enjoy homemade treats at the café. This event will take place at Clairemont Elementary School, 155 Erie Ave., on Friday from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Children can enjoy art activities on Saturday from 1 to 5 p.m.

Holiday Artist Market
Shop for unique gifts from 35 artists and handcrafters. The market opens Friday through Dec. 16. The hours are from 5 to 8 p.m. on Fridays, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturdays, and from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday. Town Brookhaven is at 4330 Peachtree Rd., NE.
