First Vinings Restaurant Week starts Sunday

The inaugural Vinings Restaurant Week will feature 17 eateries offering diners three fixed-price menu options.

Presented by the Vinings Jubilee, the event starts Sunday and ends the following Saturday, and gives menu items at $15, $25 and $30 levels.

Restaurants with $30 menus are: Blackstone Steaks & Seafood, C&S Seafood and Oyster Bar, Café Vena at Vinings, Canoe, Hoki Japanese Restaurant, The Olive Bistro and Social Vinings and Taverna Fiorentina. Those offering $25 menus are: Garrison’s Boiler & Tap, La Paz, Marlow’s Tavern, Meehan’s Public House, Noche Tequila & Tapas Bar, Orient Express, Soho American Bistro, South City Kitchen-Vinings. Mellow Mushroom Pizza Bakers is providing a $15 menu.

Vinings Jubilee President Mike Hammer said the shopping center had “done a variation of this concept in the past but only with Jubilee restaurants.”

“This year we decided to invite other Vinings restaurants and offer a pre-fix menu in order to offer customers a variety of price points,” he said. “We are pleased that we have had such a good response and that we have a variety of restaurants and food choices for everyone.

Hammer also said he hopes the event will bring new diners to the participating restaurants.

“We are excited so far and hope this [inaugural] event will be repeated next year,” he said.

Chris Heuser, president of the Vinings Business Association, said the organization is not affiliated with the event but is supporting it.

“We’re going to attend it,” he said. “It’s a great thing for Vinings. It’s going to bring a lot of people in. People like to shop there [at the Vinings Jubilee] and maybe we’ll be able to bring some people in to see what we’re doing down there.”
