The re-scheduled, free Neighborhood Jazz Concert at John A. White Park takes place Saturday from 3 to 9 p.m. at John A. White Park, 1053 Cascade Circle SW, Atlanta, sponsored by Atlanta City Councilwoman Keisha Lance partnership with the 36th annual Atlanta Jazz Festival.

Attendees are encouraged to bring their blankets and picnic baskets.

Performers will include trumpeter Milkshake; saxophonist J.O. Wyatt; saxophonist J. Henry; and the Mays-Young Jazztet featuring students from Benjamin E. Mays High School and Jean Childs Young Middle School.

“This is another great opportunity for people to fellowship and enjoy amazing entertainment right in the community,” said Bottoms in a statement. “This is the third year that I have hosted jazz in beautiful John A. White Park and each year the event gets bigger and better. It is a fun time for people of all ages.”

The Atlanta Jazz Festival is an annual musical showcase that celebrates jazz in venues throughout metro Atlanta.

The festival exposes and entertains diverse audiences to the rich heritage of jazz. This year’s festival took place May 25 through May 27 in Piedmont Park.
