Fulton treats black ice trouble spots

Fulton County Facilities and Transportation Department inspectors working in conjunction with the Georgia Department of Transportation completed inspections of roads and bridges today in south Fulton for black ice.

Inspectors found three potential trouble spots this morning at the following locations:
-Cochran Road: a fallen tree was removed. The area is now clear of debris.
-Buffington Road: black ice was located near the intersection of Old Fairburn Road in the Red Oak area. A mixture of sand, rock dust and calcium chloride was placed in the area.

Black ice was located near the following intersections:
-Enon Road at Campbellton Road,
-Enon Road between Vandiver Road and
-Camp Creek Parkway.
Mixtures of sand, rock dust and calcium chloride were placed in the area.

Inspections of bridges in south Fulton were found to be clear of black ice.

Citizens are urged to report any black ice during periods of below freezing temperatures to Facilities and Transportation at (404) 612-4223 or (404) 312-8861.
