GDOT to close highway lanes this weekend

The Georgia Department of Transportation announced Thursday it will close some lanes of local highways this weekend and beyond to conduct roadwork in the area.

In Cobb County, there will be two closures:

o One right lane of the ramp from Interstate 285 westbound at I-75 will be closed from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. each day through Monday for bridge maintenance.

o In a closure also affecting Fulton County roads, the three right lanes of I-285 northbound and southbound each will be closed from Riverside Drive to Ga. 400 from 9 p.m. to 5 p.m. Friday through March 17 to replace signage.

In Fulton, several other roads will have lane closures:

o One right lane of Sidney Marcus Boulevard eastbound and westbound each will be closed from Ga. 400 to Buford Highway now through March 31 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for bridge construction.

o The HOV lane of I-75 northbound from Central Avenue to Mount Paran Road will be closed from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. now through May 30 to replace signage.

o One right lane of Ga. 400 both southbound and northbound from Lenox Road to Sidney Marcus Boulevard will be closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. now through March 31 for construction of the ramps to complete the 400/I-85 interchange.

o Two right lanes of Ga. 400 northbound from I-85 to Sidney Marcus Boulevard will be closed now through Sunday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. for concrete placement.

o Three left lanes of I-285 from Roswell Road to Paces Ferry Road will be closed with traffic pacing now through Saturday from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. to replace signage.

o One right lane of Ga. 400 southbound from Peachtree Road to Sidney Marcus Boulevard will be closed Saturday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. for sign structure placement.
