Ex-Marist standout Danny Coughlin, a freshman defender, will be among the number of former local high school lacrosse players who will play in the game for Tech.
Senior goalie John Mahoney (Lovett), sophomore goalie Michael Hashimoto (Riverwood), junior long stick midfielder Ryan Foarde (St. Pius X) and sophomore defender Jordan Daniell (St. Pius X) are the other former area prep standouts who will be suiting up for the Yellow Jackets.
The game will serve as a fundraiser for the Andrew Oswald Memorial Fund — in honor of the former Pope lacrosse player who died in a car accident in July 2005. The fund was created by Oswald’s family to promote safe driving among teenagers.
Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for children under 12. Georgia Tech and Marist students and youth lacrosse players wearing their jerseys will be admitted free.
A tailgate for Georgia Tech alumni will be held before the game at 6:30 p.m. Registration for the tailgate is available at www.nmetrogtclub,com/2013/gt-lacrosse-tailgate-and-game.
