71.70 percent of Georgia counties' votes have been reported to the Georgia Secretary of State's office and approval of the charter school amendment is still ahead with 57.49 percent of the vote.

Out of 159 counties in Georgia, 96 have partially reported votes and 61 have completed their reports to the Georgia Secretary of State's office. As of 9:30 p.m., 56.91 percent of the 2,132,959 votes counted are in favor of the charter school amendment.

At 8:45 p.m. 130 of 159 Georgia counties had started reporting. At that time, 55.69 percent of the 1,173,522 votes cast in the charter school amendment election were in approval of the amendment.

Just 40 minutes after polls closed, 28 of 159 Georgia counties have started reporting to Secretary of State Brian Kemp's office. Of the reported votes, 51.82 percent were cast in favor of the amendment while 48.18 percent were against. This story will be updated throughout the night.
The wording was at best bias and at worst prejudicial. It declared better education with parental involvement which makes it sound like pie in the sky. It does not say how it is better, it does not say how it is paid for, and it does not say how it effects public schools. Nor does it say who is backing charter schools and they gain.
