The city of Sandy Springs Thursday announced it will begin sidewalk construction Monday on Hammond Drive from Barfield Road to Glenridge Drive.

The .15-mile stretch of sidewalk will complete a three-quarter mile path providing residents with a passageway from Hammond Park to the city limits of Dunwoody. The sidewalk follows design currently in place as part of the Perimeter Community Improvement Districts’ streetscape program, including the addition of lighting.

Motorists should expect lane closures during the construction period, and are asked to use added caution when driving in the area. Work is expected to be completed within the next two months, weather permitting.
