The park at 372 Oak St. is set to open at 5 p.m. for the event, which will begin at 6 p.m. Admission is free, but spending money will be needed for a children’s carnival area and food vendors, with cash only requested.
Vendors will offer food and refreshments for sale. Currently the vendors include Atlanta Ice Cream, Happy Hawg BBQ, Ian’s Oven Pizza, Kona Ice and On-A-Roll.
“While we prefer our residents and visitors patronize the local vendors and support the nonprofits that will also be selling beverages, coolers with personal food and beverages are welcome,” City Manager Robbie Rokovitz said in a news release.
There will be no alcoholic beverages sold or permitted within the city park, he said.
Jimmy Buffett tribute band A1A is scheduled to perform, after which East Coast Pyrotechnics will present a fireworks show that will be visible from many locations within the city.
The city government will provide a shuttle service to various parking lots within the vicinity of the park. Hiram police officers and Paulding County deputies will be on hand to assist with vehicular and pedestrian traffic, crowd control and compliance with state and local laws. Normal traffic patterns will be adjusted to establish safer route to and from the park and surrounding streets.
