Henry County Police are searching for a man allegedly involved in a hit and run accident in Stockbridge this afternoon.

Stockbridge resident Cherilyn Anderson witnessed the aftermath.

She said she was shopping in Office Depot on Mount Zion Road when she heard "a loud boom" and ran outside .

Anderson said she saw a black Kia with severe damage with a woman driver inside.

Up the road was a grey Honda with damage.

Anderson said she saw two people, one male and one female, exit the Honda and run in opposite directions.

The victim of the hit and run did not require an ambulance and is talking to police.

As of 5:05 p.m., the alleged female assailant had been apprehended but the man had not.

Police obtained a description of the man in question.

One witness, Gary Matthews, described the alleged male assailant as wearing a dark T-shirt.

Police described the alleged woman assailant as bloodied and cut up from the impact of the crash.

Police would not comment on why the alleged assailants fled the scene.
