Despite rainy weather, King’s Ridge welcomed more than 400 attendees to last year’s fair, a number which the school is hoping to double this year. In the case of rain on Sunday, however, the fair will be rescheduled to the following Sunday, Oct. 27.
This year’s county fair offers activities for all ages. Parents can browse the selection of more than 20 artisan vendors while their children play on one of the many inflatable rides or climb the rock wall.
County fair coordinator Jennifer Barden said, “If you want to check out King’s Ridge or just come to see the county fair, it’s a great place to spend time with your family. There’s a little something for everyone.”
While the King’s Ridge County Fair has previously been hosted in the spring, coordinators opted to make this year’s fair a fall event.
“A county fair feels like more of a fall activity. Now we’re able to use pumpkins and have a hay ride, something that everyone will enjoy,” Barden said.
In addition to the food and festivities featured, there will also be raffles and a silent auction.
More than 20 raffle baskets will be available, two of which will contain an iPad mini and a video game console, only a few of the many prizes to be won.
All-access wristbands will be available at the gate for $40, or they can be purchased in advance online. In advance, wristbands are $35 for attendees 5 years of age and older; $15 for ages 3 and 4 years and free for those 2 years and under.
Tickets will also be available so that attendees can pay on a ride-by-ride basis. Attractions will be priced at one to three tickets each, and tickets will be needed for the basket raffles. Tickets may be purchased in packs of 10 for $10. Tickets are available at the door or in advance online.
