EDITOR:

Defunding the implementation of the Affordable Care Act, aka Obamacare, is now the best move to rid ourselves of this unpopular law.

The Congressional Budget Office confirmed the law is an unaffordable $1 trillion tax hike, with 21 tax increases. Beginning Oct 1, one must sign up for health insurance or be fined; fines escalate in coming years. Insurance costs for families and young people are rising, yet waivers have been granted to Congress, their aides, corporations and requested by unions.

Millions are losing their employer-sponsored coverage. The act is stifling hiring, layoffs are occurring, full-time jobs are becoming part-time. The Internal Revenue Service is granted 47 new powers for implementation, though the IRS head and employee union don’t want to be part of the law. The Congressional Budget Office projects after the act is implemented, 31 million American will still not have health insurance.

Next month, Republican House members intend to fully fund government via a must-pass spending bill. They can defund both discretionary and mandatory funding for implementation of the act by attaching a legislative rider, such as District 14 U.S. Rep Tom Graves’ House Resolution 2682, to the bill. That would leave the Senate and the president with the decision to go along and fund the government but not Obamacare, or be the cause of a temporary government slowdown.

Senate liberals and the president are the only ones talking about a government shutdown. Call on your members of Congress to defund Obamacare today.

Obamacare will be defunded if Americans rise up and demand it now.
