On behalf of the State Bar of Georgia, I wish to congratulate Sandy Springs attorney Ashley Wilcott on her appointment by Gov. Nathan Deal as director of the Office of the Child Advocate, which represents the interests of children who are in the custody of the state’s child welfare system.
Wilcott will be well served in her new position by her work in the juvenile justice system the past two decades and her most recent experience as a special assistant attorney general representing the Department of Human Resources and the Department of Family and Children Services in Dawson and Rockdale counties.
Wilcott’s acceptance of this appointment demonstrates her continued commitment to the public service responsibilities of state bar members, which in turn helps uphold the constitutional values of our state. We wish her well in this new position of statewide leadership.
Charles L. Ruffin
President, State Bar of Georgia
