In his May 14 column [“Times have changed from Reagan’s day to Obama’s”], Kevin Riley jumps from Ronald Reagan to Barak Obama as if nothing happened between.

Like most liberals with no real ideas, he blames the Fairness Doctrine for problems today. Facts always give liberals problems, never the constant failure of liberal policies. If there was just more time or spending more money (see Paul Krugman). Then they blame Rush Limbaugh and Roger Ailes for the problems of the day!

Foley jumps over the Clinton years, a time with few successes that were not actually Republican Congressional initiatives he fought before signing. He also jumps over the Bush and vindictive comments, with efforts from the left attempting to stop him. Bush even worked with Ted Kennedy on an education bill that is being considered a failure.

Speaking of failure, comes the Obama administration. The left attribute negative comments about the president’s administration as racial. They have no other retort; there’s little positive to promote. Recent polls say that 30 to 40 percent of the population thinks we are still in a recession which, by definition, ended in 2009. And they blame George [W.] Bush!!

Foley pleads to give the president the benefit of the doubt. What does he think the 2012 election was? Then, after going in all directions, he hits it right; we need a better informed electorate. Oddly, that’s Rush Limbaugh’s line, the “low information voter” is who got President Obama elected twice.

What else could explain him winning in 2012 but the benefit of the doubt?
