On behalf of the State Bar of Georgia, I am writing to express condolences to the family, colleagues and friends of longtime attorney and civic leader John L. Westmoreland Jr. of Atlanta on his recent passing.
Westmoreland’s exemplary career in the legal profession spanned more than six decades, during which he earned a reputation as a fearless, astute, skillful litigator in the courtroom and expert counselor to clients on a variety of legal issues. He also served his country as an Air Force veteran and the community in numerous capacities, including the Buckhead Kiwanis Club as a 55-year member and past president.
All Georgia lawyers can be inspired by our colleague’s dedication and career-long efforts to promote the cause of justice, uphold the rule of law and protect the rights of all citizens. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Robin Frazer Clark
President, State Bar of Georgia
