Several players from Riverwood and North Springs were among those who were chosen to the All-Region 7AAAAA football team, which was released Dec. 11.

Riverwood quarterback Grant Drakeford was named the offensive player of the year for the All-7AAAAA Divison B subregion team.

Riverwood players selected to the team on offense were running back Logan Blackley, wide receiver Stetson Mayes and offensive linemen Zack Feldman and Kory Gillam.

Defensive backs Khai Anderson and Kendall Morrison, linebacker Reggie Prince and defensive linemen Will Baynes and Conner Stewart were the Raiders who were chosen on defense.

North Springs had wide receiver Brandon Cameron selected to the first-team offense and defensive back Jalen Holloman was a first-team defense choice on the All-7AAAAA Division A subregion squad.

The Spartans also had quarterback Tyler Reid chosen to the second-team offense, while Ray Martin, Steven King and Israel Alexander were honorable mention choices.

A number of St. Pius X and Woodward standouts were among the players who were selected to the All-Region 6AAA team, which was released last week.

St. Pius is represented on the offense by running back Dalton Wilson, offensive linemen Matt Doelling and Tommy Parks and kicker Thomas O’Leary while Woodward features quarterback Terry Googer and athlete Quincy Wolff.

Several Woodward players were named to the All-6AAA defense – defensive tackle Andre Newton, outside linebacker Max Richardson, cornerback Arrington Farrar and safety Marcus Hyatt – along with two St. Pius players – safety Nick Ruffin and inside linebacker Daniel Crochet.

Riverwood came away with a couple of awards at the North Fulton Forsyth Touchdown Club’s annual banquet Dec. 19, with Drakeford named the offensive player of the year and Izaiah Lackey chosen as the defensive player of the year.
