Local standouts sign with colleges on Signing Day

A number of local standouts signed their names on the dotted line and secured their positions on the college level on National Signing Day Wednesday.

Milton running back Treyvon Paulk was among the most prominent of the local signees as he signed a letter-of-intent with Tennessee

Paulk was among four Milton football standouts who signed with colleges. Running back Chad Toliver signed with Rutgers, while punter Matt Moskowitz inked with Air Force and kicker Jordan Genovese signed with Kennesaw State as a preferred walk-on.

Blessed Trinity had five of its sign from its Class AAA state quarterfinal team Wednesday.

Safety Chris Keegan signed with Harvard and was joined by offensive guard Zach Mitchler (Kennesaw State, preferred walk-on), kicker Marc Nolan (Stony Brook), linebacker Carter McManes (Samford) and offensive guard Trey Caso (Liberty).

Three players from Blessed Trinity’s AAA state runner-up girls’ soccer team also signed letters-of-intent – Amy Falkin (Maine), Meredith Carson (Georgia College and State) and Angela Bringmann (Truett-McConnell) as well as Molly McAlvany (Tampa) and Katie Ray (Georgia College and State from the school’s state volleyball runner-up team.

Other Blessed Trinity athletes who signed were golfer Grace Henderson (Bradley), baseball player Grant Hormuth (Presbyterian College) lacrosse players Thomas Nofi (VMI) and Sean Dever (Young Harris College), cross country and track runner Anna Gandolfo (Georgia), track athletes Shannon Innis (Georgia Tech) and Bailey Willett (Georgia Southern) and soccer player Cameron Cox (Middle Tennessee State).

Four Alpharetta football players signed from its Region 6AAAAAA champion team. Defensive lineman Auzoyah Alufohai signed with Kennesaw State, while wide receiver Andre Horton and defensive back Chase Stratton both signed with the College of Holy Cross and linebacker Bryce Gauss inked with Adams State.

Three Chattahoochee football players also secured their places on the college level as they signed letters-of-intent. Wide receiver Collin Lisa signed with UAB, while running back Chase Nelson inked with Wofford and wide receiver Avery Ward signed with Mercer.

Roswell had two signees Wednesday, with safety Josh Selembo signing with Georgia Tech and tight end Kendall Smith with Roswell.

Centennial has seven athletes sign letters-of-intent – baseball players Chad Foster (West Georgia), Ryan Tillman (University of the South) and Hunter Phillips (Alabama State), tennis player Bryan Barnett (Piedmont College), soccer player Diego Torres (Southern Poly) and lacrosse players Jake Sadd and Cole Woodward (both with Guilford College).
